Security Tear Tape Brings All The "Essentials" To Royal Tea

Egyptian tea manufacturer ‘Royal For Herbs’ has utilised the covert security capabilities offered by Payne’s Security Essentials tear tape range in order to combat the counterfeiting of its products.

Royal is Egypt’s leading supplier of herbal teas with 60% of the local market and considerable export trade, making it a target for counterfeiters.  The company was keen to prevent this threat by including an on-pack security feature that would be difficult for counterfeiters to identify and replicate, but which instantly authenticates genuine Royal packs.  

Having already used Payne tear tapes for the easy opening of its packaging, Royal decided to take advantage of the company’s recently launched Security Essentials range.  This offers a selection of technologies developed by Payne’s sister company, Payne Security, which are proven to provide an effective means of authentication to protect consumers and prevent loss of revenue.

A covert security device was regarded as the best solution because, by its nature, it is concealed from plain sight and needs specialist knowledge in order to be aware of its presence.  Nonetheless, in order to enhance branding at the point of opening, the 3mm tear tape also features the ‘Royal For Herbs’ name in visible text.
