New Tear Tape Additions Confirm Payne's 'Designer' Image

Issue Date: 10 February 2009
The latest launches from Payne’s stylish Designer Collection – including the innovative Back2Back registered print tape – confirm the flexibility of tear tape as a medium for delivering eye-catching branding and communications solutions.
Back2Back, Wave Selection and Enamel Collection join the existing Silk Collection – to provide premium brand owners with a wide choice of distinctive and elegant styles. Utilising Payne’s renowned reputation in printing, the Designer Collection employs sophisticated inks and print techniques to achieve striking visual effects.
Back2Back offers a unique use of registered print to achieve an impressive visual illusion. The text or image that can be seen from the front of the tape is seen in reverse on the underside so that the user believes they can see through the tape. The effect is achieved using tight registration to achieve perfect alignment between the two sides of the tape, with no ‘halo’ from overlapping graphics.
Wave Selection provides a subtle undulating blend of colours for an eye-catching ‘rainbow’ wave: the perfect backdrop for branding and communications messages. This striking effect highlights the capabilities of Payne’s printing facilities by using a combination of vignette cylinders to achieve a full colour palette, and is printed onto clear film to optimise its appearance.
The Enamel Collection offers a range of contemporary colours with a bright gloss effect. Contrasting colours are ‘teamed’ to stand out from the crowd and create an impactful bold statement.
“The Designer Collection has already proved popular with brands who wish to stand out on crowded shelves,” explains Simon Wildash, Head of Marketing at Payne. “With the latest additions to the range, our design and print experts underline the extraordinary visual sophistication that tear tape can achieve, and the value that these innovations can bring to on-pack branding and communications.”
