Payne Achieves Investors In People Gold Status

IIP

The commitment to staff development shown by Payne has been recognised with the award of Investors in People (IiP) Gold status for its UK sites in Banbury, Cardiff and Nottingham.

Payne is recognised globally as the leading manufacturer and supplier of pressure sensitive tear tape and a growing provider of labels, closures and seals. The announcement follows an external review of Payne’s sites in Nottingham and Cardiff, and sister company Payne Security, in Banbury, during December 2011. Between them, the locations employ around 280 people.

To achieve Gold status standard Payne not only had to demonstrate that the management has the right strategies for employee communication, development and engagement; but also provide compelling evidence that all employees are fully engaged in the development of the business and of themselves.

Divisional managing director Tony Edwards says: “This is an outstanding achievement by each and every employee at our UK sites.

“We should all feel very proud that not only have we retained our Investors in People accreditation, but to have achieved the Gold standard, which has been introduced since we won our original award.”

Receiving Investors in People Gold status is the latest accolade for Payne, which celebrated its Centenary year in 2011. The Nottingham and Banbury sites previously held Investors in People accreditation, but this is the first time Gold status, introduced in 2009, has been conferred to the business.

Launched by the Government in 1991, Investors in People is the UK's leading people management standard. It exists as a business improvement tool designed to help all kinds of organisations develop performance through their people.

Payne is now also using the UK’s IiP standards as a basis for how its overseas sites are run.
