Payne, the world’s leading tear tape manufacturer, has made several key appointments for China, underlining the importance of this growing market as the region’s brand owners recognise the value of tear tape across a variety of consumer categories.
Graham Goodwin-King becomes Payne’s China Market Director, with special responsibility for the region. He will co-ordinate Payne’s strategy to bring the benefits of tear tape – which include easy opening, branding & communications, and pack protection – to the Chinese market.
To support this strategic change, Wu “Ellen” Xiuju has been recruited as Sales Manager for China. Joining Payne from International Paper (Shanghai), where she sold specialised packaging in the liquid food and drinks category, Ellen brings exceptional insight into the marketing and sales of consumer packaging across China. Her role will be to develop the potential for Payne tear tape amongst the region’s leading international and domestic brand owners.
Ellen will work at Payne’s Beijing office alongside fellow Sales Manager Li BingJun, who will now focus his efforts primarily on the tobacco category.
“We are delighted to have a strong, dedicated team working in China, who can develop opportunities for Payne tear tape amongst existing and future customers,” explains Malcolm Waugh, Managing Director, Tear Tape. “The Chinese market is enjoying a prolific and fruitful period of growth and we are excited by the potential to share tear tape’s many benefits with brand owners in the region.”
