New Tape Underlines Payne's Tea Market Credentials

Issue Date: 22 June 2009
Payne, the global leader in tear tape technology, has launched a new product to underline its ability to meet the requirements of the tea industry with reliable and efficient packaging solutions.
Specifically developed for tea bag applications, String & Tag Tape provides an effective means of joining the bag to the string and tag commonly provided for consumer convenience and branding purposes. Payne’s solution has been designed with the needs of tea bag manufacturers in mind: the tape is tested and approved for use with the market leading high-speed C2000 tea bag machines from IMA, and is supplied on lightweight, long reels for fewer changeovers and easier handling.
The launch of String & Tag Tape complements Payne’s extensive range of tear tapes, already widely used by many tea manufacturers. This includes the popular Supastrip for the easy opening of outer wrappers, which when printed provides a cost-effective and eye-catching means of branding and communicating to the consumer at the point of opening. For brand owners requiring an important first step towards protecting their products against counterfeiting, Supastrip can also be integrated with security features from Payne’s Security Essentials range. Payne can supply all Supastrip solutions in either pressure sensitive or hot melt adhesive options, ensuring a tape-based solution for all major packaging lines used within the tea industry.
Payne’s global network provides the additional benefits for a consistent product and a stable supply chain across all regions.
“The widespread use of string & tag tea bags, allied to the desire to move away from a stapled solution, means that manufacturers need both a high quality product and superior service,” comments Michael Love – Category Manager of Payne. “String & Tag tape from Payne is manufactured to the same high standards as our tear tape solutions and ensures we are able to offer a more complete service to the tea market, with the proven back up of a global operation.”
