Payne Unveils Definitive Designs

Issue Date: 25 August 2009
Payne has launched its latest collection of designer tapes with even more options for FMCG customers who require eye-catching, cost-effective and versatile branding and communications solutions.
Utilising Payne’s renowned reputation in printing, the Designer Collection employs sophisticated ink, design and print techniques to achieve striking visual effects. For this latest launch, Payne has refined several of the existing styles within the Collection and added new ones to promote its complete range of techniques.
“The Designer Collection now encompasses an even wider range of distinctive printing styles and branding initiatives.” comments Simon Wildash, Head of Marketing at Payne.
The Designer Collection now ranges from ‘Enamels,’ which offers a bright gloss effect and uses contrasting colours to create an impactful bold statement, through to ‘Waves’ which delivers a subtle blend of harmonised, undulating colours for an eye-catching effect.
Alternatively, customers can choose from the ‘Washes’ range of specially formulated transparent inks to complement and support their brand identities. Washes are available as either ‘Silks’ – a ribbon-like finish in pastel shades, adding an elegant feminine touch to brands – or ‘Pearls’: delicate, iridescent colours that can catch the light with a high cosmetic appeal.
The Designer Collection also now encompasses Payne’s printing techniques that provide multi-level communication. The double-sided ‘Duo’ tape enables one tape to deliver two messages, with the main point-of-sale communication printed on the front and a secondary message revealed only upon opening.
‘Duo Precision’, goes further and highlights Payne’s expertise in print registration: the ability to print multiple colours exactly over one another without the risk of a ‘halo’ showing between layers.
Another application of highly sophisticated registration is ‘T2P’, which stands for Tape to Pack registered. T2P uses specialist equipment to ensure that the printed message on the tear tape starts at the same point on every pack. This delivers impactful messages on the front, back or side panels of any pack – in fact wherever the customer requires – ensuring that the tear tape works to maximum effect with the overall pack design.
“In ever more competitive markets, brands need to stand out,” concludes Simon Wildash. “The portfolio of innovative printing, ink and design solutions offered by Payne’s Designer Collection can deliver an effective communication solution by capturing the attention and interest of consumers.”
