Payne Helps Ricola Support Switzerland in 'Euro 08'

Swiss confectionery manufacturer Ricola Ltd recently used a branding & communications tear tape from its supplier Payne to enhance a Euro 2008 promotion across its Herb Drop range.
Ricola Ltd produces a vast assortment of sweets using extracts from natural mountain herbs in a selection of delicious flavours including Eucalyptus, Elderflower and Sage. The majority of its Herb Drops are sugar free, calorie reduced and suitable for diabetics.
Until this Spring Ricola had been applying Payne’s gold line tear tape to enable easy opening of flow-wrapped boxes of Herb Drops. The company recognised that there was potential for Ricola to utilise Payne’s branding & communications capabilities by applying a printed tear tape in conjunction with a new on-pack promotion Ricola planned to launch to tie in with Switzerland co-hosting the UEFA Euro 2008 football tournament.
Promotional packs of the sweets carried a label to encourage customers to visit Ricola’s website for a chance to win one of 1000 Swiss Football shirts. The branded tear tape was used to reinforce the promotion – and highlight Ricola’s pride in the national football team – by carrying the famous Swiss flag design of a white cross on a red background.
