Local manufacturer Payne has ensured that entrants to the West Bridgford Photo Marathon – a competition held on Saturday to find the region’s outstanding photographic talent – could be easily identified as they participate.
The Photo Marathon offered a local spin on a popular innovation already seen in cities around the world. Open to anyone with an interest in photography – from beginners to seasoned snappers – entrants were presented with a series of themes, about which they had to take appropriate photographs during the allotted four hour period. Those judged by a panel of professional photographers to have taken the best pictures will receive prizes at a ceremony to be held in October.
Giltbrook-based Payne manufactures tear tape for a range of consumer markets, but its sister company, Payne Security, is a supplier of ID cards. Keen to support the Photo Marathon, Payne offered to supply all entrants with personalised ID badges and coloured lanyards to wear around their necks, ensuring that the event’s organisers can easily spot those taking part.
As an official sponsor, Payne has also donated a prize of £100 worth of photography equipment. Payne employee Adrian Cudmore, a keen amateur photographer himself, will present Payne’s prize at the Photo Marathon awards ceremony on 23rd October.
“Payne is delighted to be sponsoring this fun and rewarding event,” explains Simon Wildash of Payne. “We take a keen interest in promoting local talent and we are especially pleased we can assist practically by supplying all entrants with personalised ID cards.”
