New Managing Director for Payne Tear Tape - Malcolm Waugh
Issue Date: 15 January 2008
Payne, the world’s leading tear tape business, has appointed Malcolm Waugh as Managing Director, as part of a re-organisation of its managerial structure designed to improve efficiency and customer focus.
Waugh joins from Tetra Pak, where he was Commercial Director for UK & Ireland, and will have full commercial and operational responsibility for the tear tape business worldwide. Waugh takes over from Tony Edwards, who for the last five years has combined his role as Divisional Managing Director of Filtrona plc’s Coated & Security Products Division with that of Managing Director of the tear tape business. Edwards will now focus full time on leading the division, which also includes authentication & ID business Payne Security and the track & trace business FractureCode Corporation.
Commenting on the appointment Edwards said: “I am delighted to have someone with Malcolm’s knowledge of the flexible packaging industry and track record of sales success joining our management team. We have a strong senior team in the tear tape business already and I am sure that under Malcolm’s leadership they can take us to new heights in terms of delivering innovation and outstanding service to our customers.”
Waugh added: “I am very excited at the opportunity to join an international market leader who clearly still has considerable potential in new easy opening applications as well as in the protection and promotion of consumer brands. The chance to work with other colleagues across the Coated & Security Products Division to help add even more value to our customers’ business is something I am also looking forward to immensely.”
