* July 2009 - Swine Influenza update
The World Health Organisation has now given Swine Influenza pandemic status. This is a function of the number of countries now experiencing outbreaks and the inability of the authorities to control these, but is not in itself any reason for alarm. It is also worth noting that whilst the number of cases continues to increase in many countries across the globe the number of fatalities remains very low and appears to be primarily related to those with other health issues.
From Payne's perspective we will continue with 'business as usual' in so far as is practicably possible. Within this we have outlined to all employees that they apply the highest personal hygiene standards, both at work and at home, in particular with respect to hand washing. We have also reaffirmed that anyone displaying flu-like symptoms receives prompt medical attention.
We trust these actions will provide reassurance to you and are an indication of the robust procedures and processes we have in place at Payne to ensure continuity of supply for our customers. We will provide further updates to you as the situation develops and publish the latest information on our status here on our website.
